Resource Overview
In this engaging, standards-aligned STEM lesson, students use the engineering design process to research, design, build, and test prototypes for oil spill cleanup. They’ll explore the environmental impact of oil spills on marine ecosystems and take on the challenge of rehabilitating marine birds affected by pollution. This hands-on project supports Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and encourages critical thinking, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving.
