21st Century Skills Naturally Connect to Population Education Lessons

The 21st Century Curriculum focuses on distinct skills that students must learn and master throughout their education. But looking beyond the classroom, the curriculum also focuses on students’ futures within their communities and in the workplace.

The framework for 21st Century learning takes a student’s education and pairs it with essential educator-based systems like professional development, standards and assessment, and learning environments. Population Education lesson plans are naturally suited to the skills addressed by the 21st Century Curriculum, even professional development opportunities! Students engage in fun, hands-on lessons that challenge them to think critically, use creative thinking to solve problems, collaborate with others, and take charge of civic responsibility while learning to become global citizens.

Throughout the coming weeks, we’ll take a closer look at a few components of the 21st century interdisciplinary themes and connect them to a Population Education activity. So keep an eye out!
