Students read a news article about local population growth and the resulting sprawl, create and write a proposed solution, and simulate a city council debate.

Students will be able to:
  • Define suburban sprawl.
  • Identify three perspectives in debates about local population growth and development.
  • Exercise problem-solving skills to propose solutions to suburban sprawl.
  • Use argumentation skills in a city council debate simulation.
