Resource Overview

Students act as an animal or plant trying to survive by collecting cards that represent essential characteristics of a habitat: water, soil, shelter, space, air, and food.

Students will be able to:
  • Name the main characteristics that a habitat must have in order to support wildlife species.
  • Describe how animals and plants are impacted when their habitat loses a key characteristic.
  • Identify ways that human activities can contribute to the destruction and protection of habitats.
