Professional development is a cornerstone of Population Education. Members of our staff and national Trainers’ Network facilitate 500-600 workshops annually for teachers and nonformal educators at conferences and in-service programs, as well as for future teachers in their education methods classes at campuses throughout North America. Every workshop is tailored for the participants’ grade level and subject area.

Since 1975, Population Education has facilitated workshops for hundreds of thousands of educators. Our highly regarded curricula prepares the next generation for responsible global citizenship by encouraging students to think critically, problem solve, and make informed decisions about the world around them. Our workshops provide resources and strategies for teaching about human ecology and related social, environmental and economic issues.

Our curriculum and workshops are hands-on, cross-curricular and promote issue-based learning while also meeting state and national standards in a range of disciplines including science, social studies, mathematics, language arts and environmental education. They are also designed to work well with specific audiences including Gifted and Talented, ESOL, and students with learning differences.

Please note that Population Education does not generally lead presentations for K-12 students, as the emphasis of our program is on professional development for current and future teachers.
